'When chocolate goes bad'
Joseph Kookalah is a misunderstood nuclear physics genius. Relegated to a menial job in a confectionary factory, he swears to prove himself one day.
One night he sneaks into the factory and beams radiation at cooking chocolate samples to radically improve its taste and shelf life.
Something goes horribly wrong. Radium cores overheat and in a nuclear explosion, Joseph’s body is flooded with radiation, sugar and cocoa. In the morning he wakes and realises that he has a super-natural ability to improve any recipe that involves cooking chocolate. Traveling in disguise, he commits his life to fighting confectionary-related crime, as he becomes … Compound Joe!
About the film:
‘Compound Joe’ is the new feature film from Ergle-Shmergle Films, the company that brought you ‘The Mars Bar’ – a sci-fi thriller about a spy who infiltrates a renegade inter-stellar legal firm.
Ergle-Shmergle Films specialises in making films that challenge the senses – and that include perishable food items. Ergle-Shmergle Films is also a silent financial partner in many large foodstuffs companies.
Already, critics are talking up ‘Compound Joe’ – with many noting that it’s a film. Others agree that it’s being released on Tuesday. One critic said it’s the biggest blockbuster with confectionary ever made. According to the New York Times, “never before has so much chocolate exploded on screen”.
Already ‘Compound Joe’ has been lavished with awards. It took out the Best Film prize at this year’s Chilean Confectionary and Small Goods Convention. And it received a slew of awards at the Ergle-Shmergle World of Cinema Academy Awards.
Quentin Tarantino has been confirmed as having no part in ‘Compound Joe’, as he is locked down to direct something else.
Ergle-Shmergle Films is currently producing a new film titled ‘Something Else’, to be released on Thursday.
